Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team at one of our well established manufacturing clients based out of Driffield.

The Role

You will be required to provide technical support in electrical and mechanical disciplines in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical problems across the site. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and assisting in the smooth running of the factory, ensuring that the business needs and targets are always met. You will provide effective electrical/mechanical engineering support and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, with electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and hydraulic duties.

Additional duties include passing on skills to members of the team, supporting senior engineers and managing small projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Wear correct food safe PPE and always operate in a food safe manner in accordance with factory standards.

* Adhere to all housekeeping standards to maintain a food safe working environment.

* Advocate the food safety culture based on three principles of knowledge, capability, and attitude

* Adhere to all quality procedures to make a food safe product to manufacturing specification.

* Identify food safety or product quality issues, help solve immediate problems and report issues to line manager, in a timely manner.

* Complete all quality paperwork accurately and completely to ensure compliance to quality procedures, legislation and to maintain traceability through the plant.

* Complete all tasks in accordance with relevant SOPs and Work Instructions as trained.

* Complete all required paperwork, sampling schedules or electronic data input accurately and completely to ensure compliance to quality systems, legislation and to maintain traceability.

* Ensure quality assessment and /or sampling tasks are processed in a timely manner and that any resulting issues are reported efficiently to the line manager.

Primary Objectives

* H&S focus, have a zero tolerance approach with regards health and safety.

* To attend reactive maintenance problems and repair breakdowns in a safe, permanent and controlled manner.

* To ensure machinery and services are maintained via PPM to meet individual department requirements, utilising the most appropriate maintenance regime.

* To assist production as an engineer by timely attending any issues which occur during the running of the equipment.

* To adhere to SOPs and carry out all tasks to the best of your ability.

* As required, to support Engineering projects.

* Record accurately, information on the CMMS system in relation to planned maintenance and breakdowns, so the information can be analysed to improve the reliability of the asset.

* Attend meetings when required by the manager.

* To liaise and communicate with colleagues and departments.

* Ensure all work carried out complies with the relative legislation.

* To be aware of HACCP and ensure all works meet health and safety, and food safety standards.

* A totally flexible approach, to be available to cover any shift as part of current or any future rotational cover system. This includes weekend work, cover for shortages on shift etc.

Secondary Objectives

Any adhoc projects as required by engineering department and/or site

Key Performance Measures

* PPM Completion.

* Work hours utilisation.

* CMMS completion accuracy.

* Appraisal based system.

About you

* Time served engineering apprenticeship (Or equivalent)

* Min 2 years’ experience in a production maintenance environment with a multi-skilled bias.

* City and Guilds electrical/mechanical ONC-B-Tec. (Or equivalent)

* Experience in H&S legislation best practice within engineering.

* Experience in repair, maintenance, testing and installation of equipment.

* Experience with both single phase and 3 phase electrical systems including 415v.

* Hygiene – To ensure best practice is always adopted for control staff, product and environmental hygiene.

* Health and safety – To ensure you are trained against the relevant SOPs/have the relevant qualifications for any works carried out. Ensure any near misses/risks identified are escalated within the business.

* Training – To constantly review training needs and discuss with your line manager to ensure you have continuing development.
