Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Overtime at 1.5x & 2x
Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Days | Flexible Hours
Holiday: 22 days + 8 bank holidays
Qualification: NVQ Level 3 minimum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing operation, supporting a highly automated production environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical maintenance background who is confident fault-finding on automated machinery and wants to work with a varied range of industrial equipment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a range of automated production equipment, including powdered bag filling lines, robotics, conveyors, wrapping systems and bespoke SCADA-controlled machinery.

You will need to be able to hit the ground running, diagnosing faults efficiently and minimising production downtime.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a technically strong Maintenance Engineer with experience working within a manufacturing, production or process environment.

You will ideally have:

NVQ Level 3 minimum in an appropriate engineering discipline
Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
Proven experience of fault finding on automated machinery
Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, belts and chains
Experience with single and three-phase electrical systems
A methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving
The ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team
The ability to respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns
A proactive approach to maintenance and reliabilityExperience within a chemical or process manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Working Environment

You will join an established engineering department consisting of four engineers, working a days-based shift pattern with flexible working hours.

The successful candidate will be expected to become productive quickly, with the role suited to someone who is already confident working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
