Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias Ideally)

Salary: £48,000
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical bias to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production and ancillary equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and at optimum performance. This role involves fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out fault finding, repairs, and maintenance on production and ancillary equipment.

Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems and control equipment.

Diagnose and repair issues on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, mixers, grinders, sensors, and relays.

Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Conduct routine inspections to identify faults, wear, or potential failures.

Repair defects where possible or report issues to management when further action is required.

Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance service delivery.

Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications / Experience (Essential):

Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.

Strong electrical fault-finding skills with a 60/40 electrical bias.

Experience working with PLC fault finding and control systems.

Knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical equipment including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, mixers, and grinders.

Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.

Ability to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs.

Background & Personal Attributes:

A proactive and hands-on approach to maintenance.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Willingness to learn and develop within the role.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Experience within food manufacturing or food packaging environments is desirable.
