A well-established and highly respected FMCG manufacturer in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their growing engineering team on a permanent day shift pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a site known for its strong investment in people, modern equipment, and continuous improvement culture.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a fast-paced production facility. Working a 12-hour day shift pattern, you'll be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of automated production and packaging equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime
Responding quickly to breakdowns and ensuring minimal production disruption
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Working closely with production teams to optimise equipment performance
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation
Ensuring all work is completed safely.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer with experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. You should be confident working independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.
You'll bring:
A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
Experience in FMCG, food, or high-volume manufacturing (preferred)
Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment (advantageous)
A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
