We are looking for an experienced and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our busy food manufacturing operation.
The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, with experience in food production machinery, industrial refrigeration, and general maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring that production equipment, machinery and refrigeration systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
* Maintain and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems.
* Support the operation and maintenance of cooling systems, chillers and associated equipment.
* Minimise machinery downtime and improve production efficiency.
* Carry out fault finding and repairs on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and processing equipment.
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards.
* Complete maintenance records and report any ongoing issues.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry.
* Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
* Experience with industrial refrigeration and cooling systems.
* Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.
* Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
* Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
* Refrigeration engineering qualifications.
* F-Gas certification (where applicable).
* Experience with ammonia or CO₂ refrigeration systems.
* PLC and control system knowledge.
