Shift: Monday – Friday: Days - 8am - 4:30pm

Key Multi-Skilled Engineer Responsibilities:

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, servicing, repairs, and inspections across all site machinery and equipment.

* Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults to minimise downtime and maximise plant availability.

* Work hands-on across all areas of the factory, supporting production, processing, packing, and facility operations.

* Maintain service plant and utilities, including boilers, chilled water systems, compressed air, and effluent treatment systems.

* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, with accurate records maintained and equipment hygienically handed back to production.

* Conduct appropriate risk assessments before undertaking maintenance work and ensure identified control measures are implemented before work begins.

* Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement activities to reduce recurring equipment failures and production losses.

* Assist with new equipment design and engineering improvement projects where required.

* Ensure machinery and engineering activities meet retailer standards and the required food safety and operator safety requirements.

* Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and maintain a strong "clean as you go" culture.

* Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, food safety, hygiene, and engineering compliance always.

Multi-Skilled Engineer Requirements:

Essential:

* Recognised electrical engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent.

* Experience working within FMCG or Food Manufacturing

* 17th or 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.

* Multi-skilled engineering experience with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.

* Proven experience carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment.

* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering issues.

* Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

* Computer literate with the ability to accurately complete maintenance and engineering records.

* Strong understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping for quality, food safety, Health & Safety, and engineering compliance.

* Strong team-working ethic and a positive, hands-on approach.

Desired:

* Mechanical engineering qualification alongside electrical qualifications.

* Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.

* HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.

* Previous experience working within a UK retailer-standard or BRCGS-accredited food manufacturing environment
