Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced MS SQL Developer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in MS SQL Server and Transact SQL, and will be responsible for optimizing and improving existing SQL code, as well as enhancing the performance and monitoring of SQL Server jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze and enhance the performance of existing stored procedures and functions.
- Review and modernize existing stored procedure code, particularly code written in SQL Server 2008, by applying up-to-date development practices.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand and address their performance concerns.
- Improve the monitoring and reporting mechanisms for SQL Server jobs.
- Document current processes and SQL jobs comprehensively.

Required Experience:

- Proficiency with SQL Server versions from 2008 to 2022.
- Expertise in writing and optimizing stored procedures and function calls.
- Experience in managing and monitoring SQL jobs.
- Familiarity with the use of database mail.
- Strong skills in monitoring and improving the performance of SQL code.
