MOT Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced MOT Technician to join their busy fast-fit centre in Wellingborough. The MOT Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality service across a variety of makes and models, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.

Full-time, permanent position within a reputable automotive businessDuties of the MOT Technician:

Conduct MOT tests in compliance with DVSA standards and legal requirements
Diagnose faults and perform servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
Work on brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, and wheel alignment
Inspect vehicle components including lights, exhausts, brakes, and steering systems
Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively
Complete job cards, MOT documentation, and maintenance records accurately
Advise customers on identified faults and recommend appropriate repairs
Keep up-to-date with MOT regulations, technical developments, and best practices
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment
Support stock checks, administrative tasks, and general workshop operations
Undertake additional duties as requiredRequirements of the MOT Technician: 

Valid MOT Tester licence – essential
Proven experience within a fast-fit centre, independent garage, or vehicle dealership
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
Relevant vehicle technician qualifications and hands-on experience
Good practical skills with both hand and power tools
Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points
Professional approach, attention to detail, and commitment to high standards
