Location: Whitton, Middlesex
Working hours: 40 hours/week (8am – 5pm / 9am - 6pm)
Salary: £25k - £30k per annum
A West London based Montessori School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join its expanding team to have full responsibility for the 2.5 – 5-year-old children. You will work term-time only, entitled to free daily breakfast, free onsite parking, individual Christmas and birthday presents, contribution into a pension scheme, access to travel loan facility, excellent pay and reward scheme, and Learning and Development opportunities.
The primary responsibility of a Montessori Classroom Assistant is to maintain a high standard of Montessori education, ensuring that at all times the children are supervised, and to encourage through play and care the children’s social, physical, intellectual and emotional development. Montessori Classroom Assistants interact with the children at all times throughout their time on duty.
Montessori Classroom Assistants work as part of the nursery team and promote a welcoming atmosphere in the nursery. They assist all other members of staff with the children at all times throughout their time on duty. Montessori Classroom Assistants help senior staff in opening up or closing down the nursery each day.
To be a successful Montessori Teaching Assistant, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
* Montessori Classroom Assistant Certificate / NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care & Education or equivalent.
* First Aid training is desirable.
* Knowledge of the Montessori approach is desirable.
* Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is essential.
* Knowledge of OFSTED guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential.
* Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
* Relevant experience of the age range 2.5 - 5 years is desirable.
The Montessori Teaching Assistant will be expected to work 8 hours per day Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch. Total of 40 working hours per week.
In return, the Montessori Teaching Assistant, will receive a competitive salary depending on experience and the opportunity to work term timely.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a Disclosure and Barring Enhanced Disclosure will be undertaken on successful applicants before an appointment is confirmed.
