Money Advisor – Social Housing

£21.54 per hour | Full-time | 35 hours per week

Hoop Housing Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Money Advisor to join an established Income & Money Advice team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in welfare benefits, money and debt advice, ideally within social housing or a related environment.

About the role

You’ll provide specialist advice and support to residents experiencing a range of financial challenges, including budgeting, debt, benefits and income maximisation.

Working as part of an experienced Money Advice team, you’ll help residents understand their entitlements, manage financial pressures and achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who has:

* Proven experience working as a Money Advisor

* Strong experience providing welfare benefits and money advice

* Experience supporting people from a range of backgrounds and with varying needs

* Experience working within social housing or a related sector

* Experience providing benefit advice through to tribunal level

* Current knowledge of welfare rights and benefit legislation

* Good understanding of housing policy

* Excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills

* Ability to manage and prioritise your own caseload

* Confidence working under pressure and dealing with challenging or unpredictable situations

* Competence using Microsoft Office and case management systems

* A full clean driving licence

Desirable experience:

* AdvicePro

* IBS Housing Management / Open Housing

* Debt advice experience, ideally with IMA accreditation or a willingness to work towards this

* A Welfare Rights or Money Advice qualification

* Housing Policy or similar qualification

Enhanced DBS – Update Service required.
