Job Title: Model Build and NGD Project Engineer

Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire

Rate: £32.20ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £24.48ph PAYE

Employment Type: Contract (Currently financed until 31/03/2025)

Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week

Job Description:

The Model Build and NGD Team is responsible for the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of (Non-Geometric / Technical) engineering data required to build simulation (CAE) models. These models are used by various Engineering Teams to conduct virtual design verification assessments on our future vehicle programmes.

The candidate will develop close working relationships with the Engineering Teams that design programme specific components and systems and deliver the associated engineering data required to parameterise full vehicle models for our simulation activities. Through these relationships the candidate will ensure robust delivery plans are in place to deliver collated consistent data on-time and to the necessary quality. Candidate will be part of a collaborative, iterative and agile team of engineers performing similar tasks at different phases of programme delivery and focus will be in the latter more stable phases as the designs mature towards production.

Specific responsibilities:

* Create and maintain data delivery plans and ensure alignment with all data providers and communication to Stakeholders.

* Provide regular programme status for the workstream and support the co-ordination of the overall virtual engineering plan.

* Proactively identify quality issues and drive resolution of any issues identified.

* Escalate issues preventing the on-time delivery of engineering data.

* Drive continuous improvement actions to improve operational efficiency and lead or support activities to prevent reoccurrence of any delivery timing or quality failures.

Skills Required:

* The candidate should be highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills in approaching technical issue resolution.

* Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Experience Required:

* Degree Qualified

Experience Preferred:

* Experience of project management, planning and delivery.

* Be capable of expediting successful delivery through assertiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and negotiation with a wide range of multi-functional teams.

* A good communicator with the ability to articulate technical concepts succinctly to a range of people with various management, experience, and skill levels.

* Experience of maintaining traceability and structure in information in a variety of forms.

* Background in process development and / or Quality Management Systems.

* Knowledge of whole vehicle automotive product design and engineering.

* Knowledge of a range of CAD, CAE and other Virtual Assessment Processes, Methods and Tools.
