Salary: £15.00 per hour
Location: Remote support for operations at the British Sugar factories in Bury St Edmunds, Cantley and Wissington.
Working Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Sunday with shift times to be agreed. Breaks are paid.
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract September 2024 – March 2025.

You must be available to attend a training day in Wissington, Norfolk, during the first week of September 2024.

Purpose of the role & how you will contribute:

As Mobile Operations Support you will be responsible for stepping in to provide operational support for all NFU Sugar activities, and to cover periods of absence at any of the British Sugar factories. In this critical role, you will go where you’re most needed, covering Quality Assurance and Sugar Testing activities, or providing operational and administrative support. No two days are the same, so this role requires someone who is dynamic and who relishes learning new information and taking on new challenges.

As part of the NFU Sugar team you will be responsible for monitoring the activities of British Sugar on behalf of the NFU and the sugar beet growers to ensure compliance with agreed Beet Intake and testing procedures.

What you’ll bring:

Due to the breadth of role responsibilities, we’re looking for someone who is dynamic and willing learn new skills and take on a variety of different tasks. The ideal person will have:

• a good standard of general education (GCSE or equivalent).
• an awareness of Health and Safety Procedures.
• excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• experience in establishing and developing relationships with colleagues, external suppliers, and contacts.
• excellent Interpersonal and practical skills
• good IT literacy and be confident using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• decision making and problem-solving skills.
• the ability to work on their own initiative and with limited supervision
• experience maintaining confidential and sensitive data.
• a willingness to work outside for extended periods in all weather conditions.
• a keen eye for detail.
• a willingness to undertake daytime or night-time shifts.
• a full current license to drive in the UK as driving is required as part of the role.

You must live within a reasonable commutable distance to Cantley, Bury St Edmunds and Wissington; ideally, within or close to the Thetford, Diss, Attleborough triangle.
