An established and rapidly growing commercial vehicle recovery and repair business is looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Recovery Technician to join its team in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician or Mechanic who enjoys working out on the road, solving problems and helping customers when they need it most.

You'll attend a wide variety of HGV and commercial vehicle breakdowns, roadside repairs and recovery situations, meaning every day brings something different.

The Role
As a Mobile HGV Mechanic / Recovery Technician, you will:
·Attend HGV and commercial vehicle breakdowns across Suffolk and surrounding areas.
·Carry out roadside mechanical repairs and fault diagnosis.
·Attend vehicles involved in breakdowns and road traffic incidents.
·Safely recover HGVs and commercial vehicles to a suitable destination.
·Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and determine the most appropriate repair or recovery solution.
·Carry out repairs at the roadside where possible.
·Work within an approximate 100km operating radius, with longer-distance recoveries required from time to time.
·Work safely in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
·Provide professional and reassuring customer service to drivers and operators.
·Complete recovery and repair documentation accurately.
·Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure vehicles are dealt with efficiently.
·Support workshop repair operations when required.
·Maintain the recovery vehicle, tools and equipment to a high standard.

About You
We're looking for a mechanically skilled and customer-focused individual who can remain calm and professional when dealing with roadside breakdowns and challenging situations.
You'll ideally have:
·Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Mobile Mechanic.
·Strong mechanical knowledge of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
·Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
·The ability to work independently and make sensible decisions at the roadside.
·A positive, "can-do" and go-the-extra-mile attitude.
·Excellent customer service and communication skills.
·The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
·Good organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
·A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable
·Class 1 HGV Licence.
·Previous HGV recovery experience.
·Experience carrying out roadside repairs.
·Experience working within a breakdown, recovery or mobile engineering environment.
·Previous commercial vehicle workshop experience.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate, so applications are also welcomed from experienced HGV Mechanics who are looking to move into a mobile recovery role.
