MLD & SLD) SEND Teachers & Learning Support Assistants
Location: Bristol (West)
Type: Part-time & Full Time
Pay: MPS & UPS (Teachers), £65 - £90 (LSAs)

Elementa frequently recruit SEND Teachers & SEND Learning Support Assistants for short-term, fixed-term and permanent assignments at this special school that provides education to SEND students with ASC/ASD, MLD & SLD; often displaying challenging behaviours. The age ranges vary greatly from upper KS2 to KS3,4 &5 + young adults. Class sizes are small (x6/7) with additional LSA support in each class. It's not uncommon to have x1 teacher & x3 LSAs working in each class.
This is a fantastic setting to work at with beautiful school buildings and experienced & able colleagues. A strong emphasis is placed on learner-centred education and the school use the full resources of their site & local outdoor spaces as well.
Although many roles start off as short-term or interim opportunities, it's very common for contract teachers & LSAs to be offered extended & permanent opportunities. If you have previous experience in mainstream schooling and are looking to use your SEND skills to move into a specialist SEND setting, enhance your ability, or if you're already an experienced SEND practitioner, then we'd love to hear from you.
If you have any additional training in positive behaviour management such as Team Teach, Breakaway or MAPA, this may be an advantage. As Elementa are Team Teach trainers, you would be offered free training if required for this job role.
For contract roles at this school you'll need to be fully registered & cleared to work via Elementa. Of course, if you finish a contract role at this school, Elementa are happy to support any applicant further in their job hunting at other schools in the area.
