MIG Welder / Painter
Monday to Friday 0830 to 1630
Friday 0800 – 1530
£30,000 Per Annum
My client is a manufacturer of Diesel Generators, they are seeking a skilled MIG Welder / Painter
MIG Welding
* Be able to read and understand technical drawings
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment based on the requirement
* Set up components for welding according to requirement (e.g. cutting to size and drilling)
* Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
* Be a skilled and competent MIG welder
* Be able to pressure test and inspect welded items to maintain a high quality
* Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety or quality
Painting
* Be prepared to wipe down and prepare items for painting
* Understand the need for different paint types on different materials and items
* Understand the need for priming and top coating different materials and items
* Understand drying techniques and times
* Be able to paint to a quality finish standard
* Be able to touch up paint on damaged items
Other necessary requirements
* Flt Counterbalance licence
* Be able to take instructions
* Be able to work in a team or individually
* Be willing to help out other members of the team when personal workload is low
* Be willing to learn new skills
* Be punctual and have a high work ethic
