Tennial Personnel are recruiting MIG Welders to join a sports equipment manufacturing business based in Clopton, Suffolk. This is a temporary-to-permanent role, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful 12-week probation period.

The role involves carrying out precision MIG welding on small fabricated components used in the manufacture of sports equipment. Unlike heavy industrial welding, this position focuses on detailed, high-quality fabrication, with material thicknesses typically up to 5mm.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, Friday 7:45AM – 4:00PM
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out precision MIG welding on small steel components and assemblies
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and production specifications
Produce high-quality welds to the required standards with a strong attention to detail
Prepare materials and components prior to welding, including cleaning and positioning
Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and accuracy
Operate welding equipment safely and maintain equipment in good working order
Support with light fabrication and assembly duties where required
Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet daily targets
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Report any quality concerns, equipment faults, or safety issues promptly
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth production operations
Skills Required
Previous MIG welding experience with the ability to produce neat, accurate welds
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions
Good manual dexterity and precision when working with small components
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
Qualifications Required
Previous MIG welding experience is essential
Welding qualifications are desirable but not essential where relevant practical experience can be demonstrated
Experience working with thin gauge steel (up to approximately 5mm) would be advantageous
Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing environments is beneficial
Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to grow within a family-owned business are essential
