Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:30pm | Friday 7:30am–12:00pm
Hours per week: 40 hours
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join an established steel fabrication business based in Sandy.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the right candidate the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
The role will involve MIG welding and fabrication of steel components, working from engineering drawings and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
MIG welding steel components and fabrications.
Working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
Fabricating, assembling and fitting steelwork.
Measuring, cutting and preparing materials for welding.
Ensuring welds meet required quality standards.
Carrying out visual inspections of completed work.
Using workshop equipment and hand/power tools safely.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Working as part of a busy fabrication team.
Following all company health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as a MIG Welder within a steel fabrication environment.
Good MIG welding skills and experience working with mild steel.
Ability to read and work from engineering/fabrication drawings.
Good understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
Ability to measure and work accurately.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable and hardworking attitude.
Relevant welding/fabrication experience.
Working Hours
Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–5:30pm
Friday: 7:30am–12:00pm
