Days: Monday to Friday Hours: 39 hours per week. 08:00 – 16:00

Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Preparation of culture media agar plates and broth.
* Serialisation of lab equipment.
* Inoculation of samples on to a variety of selective culture media using vacuum filtration and spread plating. Cleaning and housekeeping in the laboratory.
* Practical experience in a microbiology lab environment, attention to detail and good aseptic technique are essential.

To determine by laboratory analysis if products are of acceptable quality to be released to the next stage of production or in the case of final pack to the consumer market.
* Test samples using approve methods and analyse results. Take all necessary steps to ensure precision and repeatability.
* Be flexible and support colleagues across the labs as required based on production needs and associated time pressure.
* Uphold housekeeping and hygiene standards in laboratories and sensory room.
* Take responsibility for the safety of the Laboratory Team
* Ensure we work to the company standards and policies but above all maintain the safety of our team at the Brewery
* Be accountable – Never walk past a hazard without acting
* BSc or equivalent in a related Science discipline
* At least one year of experience in a microbiological laboratory, preferably in the food industry
* Outstanding teamwork.
* Flexibility to multi-task and prioritise workload.
* Good analytical skills and microbiological technique
