MFL Teacher - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
A strong opportunity for a qualified language teacher to join an outstanding grammar school with a high-achieving pupil population and established GCSE and sixth-form provision.
Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a highly regarded selective grammar school seeking an MFL Teacher to join its established languages provision. The school has a strong academic profile, high expectations of pupils and a broad curriculum extending from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.
The successful candidate will teach a modern foreign language across the secondary age range, contributing to consistently high standards of teaching, learning and examination preparation.
The Role
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Teaching language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation
Preparing pupils effectively for GCSE examinations
Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, presentation and academic achievement
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
Supporting pupils who wish to continue language study into the sixth form
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the languages department
Maintaining accurate records of assessment and pupil progress
The successful applicant will ideally have:
QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification
A degree or strong academic background in a relevant modern foreign language
Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge and accurate language skills
Experience teaching towards GCSE; sixth-form experience would be advantageous
A clear understanding of effective language teaching and assessment
High expectations of pupil achievement and classroom standards
The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
A valid DBS or willingness to complete the required safeguarding checks
