Enjoy solving problems, working with numbers and helping customers? Join Business Stream’s Metering and Billing team and help customers get accurate bills and clear answers. You’ll investigate queries, piece together information and take ownership of getting things sorted—with no evening or weekend working.
About the role
You’ll help make sure customers receive accurate bills on time. From checking meter readings to investigating account discrepancies, you’ll use information from different systems to understand the issue, take the right action and keep customers informed.
* Investigate billing queries and resolve issues that are holding up customer bills.
* Check meter readings and account information, spot discrepancies and arrange corrections.
* Help customers by phone and email, explaining information clearly and keeping them updated.
* Work with colleagues and meter readers to move queries through to resolution.
* Manage your workload, keep accurate records and follow agreed processes to meet deadlines and quality standards.
About you
You don’t need water industry experience to bring something valuable to this role. Your background could be in customer service, administration, billing or account support. What matters is your ability to work accurately, solve problems and help customers get the right outcome.
* Experience helping customers and building positive working relationships.
* Confidence working with numbers and checking information carefully.
* Clear, friendly communication skills, both on the phone and in writing.
* An organised approach to managing tasks, meeting deadlines and taking ownership of queries.
* Confidence using computer systems, including Word and Excel, and working knowledge of a metering or case-management system.
* Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to work with others to get things sorted.
