Metal Materials Engineer (Materials Design) - 0884 - £30.78/hr PAYE rate
Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company find a Metal Materials Engineer to join their inclusive and friendly team. This contract Metal Materials Engineer (Materials Design) role is based in Cranfield and offers a favourable PAYE rate of £30.78 per hour PAYE. As a Metal Materials Engineer, you will carry out work necessary to deliver metal material design and homologation tasks on BIW with cost, quality, and timing as key metrics. You will also analyse material properties, manufacturability, and cost to select the best metals for each application.

Stay up to date on the latest advancements in metal materials, forming processes, and joining techniques
Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to ensure manufacturability and functionality
Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control
Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure optimal material selection.
To apply for this Metal Materials Engineer (Materials Design) role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
Extensive experience of metallic materials applied in the automotive industry
Experience in vehicle construction technologies, steel, and aluminium materials
Knowledge of metallic metals, especially sheet steel and aluminium for automotive construction
Excellent understanding of metal properties, forming processes (e.g., stamping, welding), and joining techniques
A driving licence valid in the UK/EU.
