MET Technician

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified MET Technician to join our busy Billingham branch. This MET Technician position offers the opportunity to work for a market-leading commercial vehicle specialist with a strong reputation and over 50 years of successful trading.

Secure employment with an established UK commercial vehicle business.Duties of the MET Technician:

Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across commercial vehicles.
Installing, maintaining and repairing vehicle wiring systems and electrical components.
Working on lighting systems, indicators and electrical braking systems.
Servicing and repairing starters, alternators and battery systems.
Diagnosing and repairing ECU faults.
Installing and configuring telematics, tracking devices and cameras.
Maintaining and repairing air conditioning electrical systems.
Using diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve faults.
Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.
Working from wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
Maintaining accurate records of repairs and parts used.
Ensuring all work complies with health, safety and vehicle standards.Requirements:

A Level 2 qualification or equivalent, such as NVQ or City & Guilds.
Significant experience installing electrical equipment to vehicles.
A practical, problem-solving approach and a positive can-do attitude.
The ability to work efficiently within a busy commercial vehicle environment.
