MEP Revit Technician

The Opportunity
Walker & Sloan is recruiting an MEP Revit Technician to join a specialist CAD and BIM business in Cardiff.
You’ll produce and coordinate building services models, working with engineers and project teams to turn design information into clear, accurate drawings. This would suit you if you enjoy the technical detail of Revit modelling and resolving how services fit together within a building.
Role Overview
You’ll develop Revit models and drawings for mechanical, electrical and public health services, using engineering designs, specifications and mark-ups.
You’ll coordinate service layouts against architectural and structural information, identifying clashes and raising queries where designs need clarification. Working with the wider project team, you’ll help resolve spatial issues while considering installation and maintenance access.
You’ll maintain model accuracy as designs develop, incorporating revisions and checking drawings before issue. You’ll also follow project modelling standards, naming conventions and document control procedures to keep information consistent.
Your work will involve regular communication with engineers and other disciplines, helping ensure deliverables are coordinated and completed within agreed timescales.
About You
You’ll have practical experience using Revit for MEP or building services projects, gained within a consultancy, contractor or specialist CAD and BIM environment.
You’ll be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and understanding how building services are arranged and coordinated. You’ll have a methodical approach to modelling, strong attention to detail and the confidence to flag issues.
Experience with AutoCAD and clash detection tools such as Navisworks would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of collaborative BIM workflows.
A relevant building services, engineering or construction qualification would be useful, although your practical Revit experience and the quality of your work will be particularly important.
