Pact have secured funding from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to deliver a dedicated community mentoring service in London. The role will provide a mentoring service for male service users on community sentences, aiming to address their thinking, behaviour, and attitudes while also providing practical assistance.
The role will work alongside Integrated Offender Management (IOM) who oversee the most persistent and repeat offenders. The overall aim of the IOM mentoring service is to help reduce reoffending from IOM cases seen by the service due to complex needs.
This will be achieved through the following outcomes:
• Reducing violence and offending
• Addressing thinking, behaviour, and attitudes that contribute to offending
• Improving engagement, motivation, and trust
• Removing short-term barriers and supporting long-term change
• Providing practical support
The Mentoring Manager is responsible for managing personal and team performance against service delivery targets, working in collaboration with MOPAC and Contract Managers to evidence delivery and outcomes. The role will oversee the work of two full time mentors working across London as well as providing support for a small cohort of service users.
The role will also be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and vetting a small pool of volunteers dedicated to this service. Supported by our national volunteering infrastructure and resources, this post will ensure Volunteer Mentors are appropriately allocated and supported to deliver this community mentoring service for People on community sentences
