Prospero Teaching is currently looking for caring, patient, and enthusiastic Year R Mentors to join our team and support Reception-aged children across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP).

As a Year R Mentor, you will work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, helping children develop their confidence, communication, early literacy and numeracy skills, social development, and readiness for learning. You will provide tailored support that meets each child's individual needs while creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

You'll also be responsible for completing weekly feedback forms to monitor each child's progress, celebrate achievements, and identify areas for further support.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
Position: Year R Mentor
Phase: Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Full-time/Part-time: Part-time
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour (minimum)
Hours: Flexible

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS (Desirable but not Essential)

QTS, EYFS qualification, Level 3 Early Years qualification, PGCE, CACHE or equivalent
Experience working within an EYFS or Reception classroom
Previous experience supporting children with additional needs or delivering 1:1 interventions
Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Provide two professional references relating to work with children.
Have at least one year's experience working in an educational or childcare setting.
