Mental Health Support Worker

Swindon | Full/Part time available | £85-£110 per day | September 2026 Start

Are you a psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing a career in psychology, mental health or education? This Mental Health Support Worker Opportunity in Swindon offers hands- on experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and other additional learning needs within a specialist school.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and therapists, providing tailored support that helps pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence. This Mental Health Support Worker role is ideal for anyone considering Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Therapy or CAMHS.

The Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will:

Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments
Support personalised learning and behaviour strategies
Building positive relationships with staff and children
Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour
Providing 1-1 and small group support for children with Mental Health needsAbout You

The Ideal Mental Health Support Worker will be compassionate, patient and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people. Psychology graduates are encouraged to apply, although candidates with relevant SEN, Care, Youth Work or support experience are welcome.
