MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT PRACTITIONER - ESSENTIAL CAR USER POST

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £(phone number removed) per annum, plus £50 per sleep

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 8am – 8am, 3-day rolling rota (1 on, 2 off)

New Start has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Practitioner to join our Adults Services Team based in Liverpool. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference, supporting vulnerable adults to achieve positive outcomes and lead fulfilling, independent lives.

The Role

As a Mental Health Support Practitioner, you will provide both practical and emotional support to individuals with mental health needs, helping them work towards greater independence and improved wellbeing.

Your role will involve supporting residents within our services, as well as visiting vulnerable adults in their own homes to deliver outreach support. You will help individuals maintain their independence, develop life skills, and manage their tenancy and daily living responsibilities effectively.

You will implement and facilitate activities that promote personal development across areas such as education, social inclusion, emotional resilience, physical health, and positive mental wellbeing. Supporting individuals to manage medication, sustain engagement, and develop independence will be key parts of your day-to-day work.

You will also assist with the safe management of buildings, respond appropriately to incidents, and ensure all reporting and recording requirements are met in line with organisational policies.

What we’re Looking For

Previous experience supporting clients with mental health issues – Essential

Excellent communication skills with a calm, patient, and confident manner – Essential

Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through crisis or periods of change – Essential

Experience assessing the needs of vulnerable adults, particularly those at risk of homelessness – Desirable

Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies (voluntary and statutory) – Essential

Experience of casework, support planning, risk assessments, and key working – Essential

Full driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and business insurance – Essential
