Are you a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Thatcham?
Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with mental health needs, emotional difficulties, and Special Educational Needs?
A supportive and inclusive Specialist School in Thatcham is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them overcome emotional, behavioural, and educational barriers.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work with pupils who may experience a range of additional needs, including SEMH, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
The successful Mental Health Assistant will work closely with Teachers, Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and personalised support throughout the school day.
This Mental Health Assistant role will involve:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working collaboratively with Teachers and other support staffThis Mental Health Assistant role would suit someone with previous experience working with children, young people, SEN, mental health, or behavioural needs.
