Mental Health Assistant / Aspiring Therapist

Full-Time | ASAP Start | £95-£105 per day | Reading

Are you a Psychology, Counselling, Education or Criminology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting children's emotional wellbeing?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading is seeking a passionate Mental Health Assistant to join their specialist Resource Base, supporting pupils with a range of SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to gain hands-on experience within a specialist educational environment while working alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals and therapists.

The Role

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will support pupils from Reception through to Year 6, helping children who may experience:

Autism and ADHD.
Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties.
Trauma-related behaviours.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Barriers to learning and social development.Your role will focus on helping pupils regulate their emotions, build self-confidence, develop positive relationships and engage more successfully with their education.

Pay: £95-£105 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
