Description:

We are looking for an individual to join our MEICA engineering team. As an MEICA Electrical Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our experienced electricians and senior team members while contributing to the successful delivery of various electrical projects.

As well as on-the-job training you will be given the time and support to work towards obtaining an electrical qualification while undertaking this role.

Key Responsibilities:

 Assistance and Support

Assist senior electrician in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
Support in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Carry tools, equipment, and materials to job sites and ensure they are in good working condition.Learning and Development

Participate in on-the-job training and attend educational workshops to enhance electrical knowledge and skills.
Study electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to understand electrical layouts and circuits.
Learn and adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.Installation and Maintenance

Help install electrical wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
Assist in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Perform basic repairs and replacements under the guidance of senior electricians.Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervising electrician or project manager.Team Collaboration

Work collaboratively with team members and other trades to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, and supervisors. Responsibilities & Accountabilities

You learn and apply electrical theory, principles, and techniques through on-the-job training and coursework. At the same time, you gain hands-on experience in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Assisting experienced electricians and senior team members in various electrical tasks and projects.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics to understand project requirements.
Safely handling electrical tools, equipment, and materials while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
Participating in safety training and following established safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Assisting in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, identifying and implementing solutions.
Learning and following electrical codes and standards to ensure compliance in all work.
Assisting with installing and maintaining lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
Keeping accurate records of work activities, hours, and progress for apprenticeship program requirements.
Participating in classroom training and coursework to enhance electrical knowledge and skills.
Demonstrating a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
Following instructions and guidelines closely to contribute to the success of electrical projects.Key Relationships:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:

 Essential

Understanding the importance of promoting a safety culture on site
Strong communication skills – both written and oral
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail
Team player but also able to work as an individual
Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines
Able to work in a busy environment under pressureDesirable
