Are you immediately available and looking for your next opportunity within the NHS? Do you have previous GP surgery experience and a strong working knowledge of EMIS?
We're recruiting on behalf of a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in South Shields and the surrounding areas, seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join their busy team on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis. There is also the potential for a permanent position following a successful trial period.
This is a busy, call centre-style reception role, so you'll need to be confident handling a high volume of patient calls while delivering exceptional customer service.
* Managing a high volume of incoming patient calls professionally and efficiently
* Greeting patients and visitors with a warm and friendly approach
* Booking, amending and managing GP appointments
* Responding to patient enquiries by phone and email
* Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
* Processing patient registrations and relevant documentation
* Supporting the practice with general administrative duties, including scanning, filing and data entry
* Working closely with clinicians and the wider practice team to ensure the smooth running of the surgery
* Previous experience working within an NHS GP Surgery
* Essential: Working knowledge of EMIS
* Experience in a busy reception or high-volume call handling environment
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
* Good IT skills and experience using electronic patient record systems
* A professional, reliable and proactive approach to work
* Immediate start available
* Competitive hourly rate of £14.24 - £14.68
* Full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
