Description:

Our client, a key player in the marine sector, is seeking a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join their dynamic team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of marine technology, developing innovative mechatronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechatronic systems, including selecting appropriate mechanical components, sensors, actuators, and electronic components to meet project requirements.
Provide a critical link in the integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components across a product.
Apply analysis outputs to demonstrate compliance with safety, functional, and performance requirements.
Configure and calibrate sensors.
PLC and embedded programming for closed-loop control based on system requirements.
Apply good systems engineering practices in line with the systems engineering lifecycle.
Implement detailed design solutions using CAD and PLM to ensure all design and installation details are precise and accurate.
Develop and implement control algorithms and software to regulate the behaviour of mechatronic systems, ensuring precise and efficient operation.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues in mechatronic systems and provide ongoing maintenance and support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electronics engineers, and software developers, to achieve project goals.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechatronics and related fields and apply innovative solutions to enhance product performance and capabilities.
Assist with the production of Bill of Materials and part creation.
Commission and test hardware and software.

Job Requirements:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience in the design and development of mechatronic systems.
Proficiency in process instrumentation and sensor selection based on system requirements.
Solid working knowledge of modern control theory and its application in mechatronic systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Desirable:

Knowledge and experience in condition-based monitoring systems and data acquisition systems.
Awareness of noise rejection and immunity techniques in data acquisition.
Experience with fluid power systems, electrical actuators, and servo motors.
Familiarity with industrial automation and programming PLCs.
Embedded programming experience in C/C++.
