Mechanics & Motorsport Instructor – SEMH & SEND
Location: Gosport, Hampshire
Salary: £21,731–£24,195.50 + up to £2,500 annual performance bonus
Contract: Full Time | Permanent | Term Time Only
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a Mechanics & Motorsport Instructor to join a specialist vocational education provision in Gosport.
This exciting, hands-on role involves teaching practical mechanical skills to KS3–KS5 learners with SEMH, SEND, ADHD and behavioural needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and re-engage with education.
You don't need to be a qualified teacher! We're looking for someone with practical mechanical knowledge who enjoys coaching, demonstrating skills and supporting young people.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver practical mechanics and motorsport-based learning activities
*
Demonstrate tools, equipment and basic vehicle maintenance techniques
*
Support learners 1:1 and in small groups of up to eight
*
Teach safe working practices and develop practical skills
*
Adapt activities to suit individual learning needs
*
Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
*
Build positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries
*
Contribute to planning, preparation and learner progress
Who We're Looking For
We welcome candidates from backgrounds including:
*
Motor vehicle mechanics and automotive repair
*
Motorsport, vehicle maintenance or engineering
*
Automotive apprenticeships or vocational training
*
Workshop instruction or practical skills coaching
*
Education, youth work or behaviour mentoring
*
Armed Forces or technical training backgrounds
Experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEND would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
