The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Working Foreman with a strong HVAC background to join an established mechanical services team based in Gateshead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising mechanical installation works on site while remaining hands-on and actively involved in the delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor, Working Foreman or Senior Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation teams on site.

* Remain hands-on with HVAC and mechanical installation works.

* Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.

* Coordinate subcontractors, engineers and site operatives.

* Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

* Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and programmes.

* Coordinate mechanical works with other trades and site teams.

* Monitor progress against programme and report any issues to the Project/Contracts Manager.

* Carry out quality inspections and ensure installations meet project specifications.

* Assist with material requirements, deliveries and site logistics.

* Identify and resolve technical and installation issues on site.

* Ensure all works comply with current Health & Safety requirements.

* Complete site records, progress reports and relevant documentation.

* Act as the main point of contact for mechanical works on site.

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Working Foreman, Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Chargehand or similar.

* Strong hands-on experience within HVAC/mechanical building services.

* Experience supervising mechanical engineers and installation teams.

* Good knowledge of HVAC systems, pipework and associated mechanical services.

* Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.

* Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to manage priorities and work to tight project deadlines.

* Relevant mechanical/HVAC qualifications are desirable.

* CSCS/SSSTS or equivalent site-based qualifications would be advantageous.
