Mechanical Test Technician
Contract: Initial 6 months
IR35: Outside IR35
Start: ASAP
Rate: £45 per hour

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Test Technician to join a highly technical automotive engineering environment supporting advanced vehicle development and testing.

Responsibilities

* Build and prepare mechanical assemblies, prototype hardware and test equipment

* Install and remove components and assemblies for development testing

* Support engineering teams during vehicle and component test programmes

* Carry out mechanical strip-down, rebuild and modification work

* Inspect components following testing for wear, damage and potential failure

* Install sensors and instrumentation to support engineering test activity

* Prepare prototype hardware and equipment ahead of scheduled testing

* Carry out routine maintenance and mechanical fault-finding

* Support engineers with test investigations and development work

* Manufacture and modify brackets, fixtures and supporting hardware

* Record test observations, component condition and engineering findings
