Job Title: Mechanical Aircraft Technician - Metalwork

Duration: 6 months (likely to extend) + Day shifts only

Location: Stockbridge

Must be able to hold an SC Security Clearance

You'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge aerospace projects, marking out, drilling, riveting (both solid and blind fasteners), using Hi-locks, and bonding faying surfaces. The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Mechanical Aircraft Technician?

Assembles, disassembles, and modifies aerospace systems by altering, removing, replacing, or upgrading components to address failures or implement changes.
Supervises the assembly, disassembly, and overhaul processes.
Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
Troubleshoots intricate pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify mechanical or electrical issues and repair defective components.
Conducts validation and verification testing of systems and components.
Documents procedures and established processes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards (e.g., repairs, test results, modifications, and inspection outcomes). Inspects components to verify repairs meet flight-worthiness criteria.
Operates under general supervision.

What are we looking for in our next Mechanical Aircraft Technician?

Proven experience in aircraft structural assembly and sheet metal work.
Proficiency in interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
Strong hand skills for precise manual tasks.
Experience with marking out, drilling, and riveting (solid and blind fasteners).
Familiarity with the use of Hi-lock fasteners.
Competence in bonding faying surfaces.
Expertise in sheet metal fabrication and structural repair techniques.
Ability to adapt to frequent engineering changes and updates.
Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
