Job Summery
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician with expertise in the assembly of process machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, and installing processing machinery, with a focus on precision, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach. The role requires a versatile individual who can work independently or as part of a team, possesses strong technical acumen, and is willing to undertake international travel for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assembly of Process Machinery:
* Proficient in assembling complex process machinery from engineered parts.
* Execute tasks such as press fitting bearings, cable routing, working on gear trains and at all times ensure the highest standards of quality and functionality.
2. Technical Drawing Interpretation:
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for the accurate assembly of machinery. We use 3D images on a monitor so ideally someone with good computer skills.
* Take control of the assembly process from selecting engineered parts to installation; you will be present for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) by customer.
3. Customer Interaction:
* Act as a primary point of contact for customers during the assembly and installation phases with the ability to fault find if any problems occur.
* Provide clear and concise updates on project progress and address customer queries professionally.
4. On-Site Installation:
* Travel to customer sites for the installation of machinery, ensuring timely and efficient setup.
* Collaborate with customers to address any specific requirements or modifications needed.
5. Fault Finding and Commissioning:
* Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in identifying and rectifying issues during machinery assembly and commissioning.
* Commissioning experience is not a must but desirable.
6. Electrical Work:
* Perform electrical tasks, including cable routing, cable connecting to support the overall assembly and functionality of processing machinery.
7. Team Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively within a team environment to meet project goals and deadlines.
* Provide support and guidance to junior team members when necessary.
8. International Travel:
* Be prepared for international travel, with trips lasting up to 2 weeks at a time.
* Adapt to diverse working environments and communicate effectively with international stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in the assembly of process machinery.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software.
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to undertake international travel.
Some experience in electrical work, including cable routing.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, daytime hours (40) with flexibility based on project requirements.
