Join a team as a Mechanical Supervisor for an exciting project at a shipbuilding facility in Glasgow, Scotland. This facility includes a covered shipbuilding hangar, workshops, storage, plant, lockers, and WC areas, along with two 100T and two 20T cranes. Working in the Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) team you will support the construction and operation of this state-of-the-art facility.

As the M&E contractor on this project they are responsible for the design, installation, and commissioning of all MEP systems within the new facility. This includes advanced ventilation and fume extract, electrical distribution & lighting, and pipework systems for compressed air, water and gas services to support the frigate construction process.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will oversee the provision, installation, connection, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP works, including:

* Installation of two new indoor substations with transformers

* Coordination with the client’s specialist sub-contractor for extending the medium voltage ring mains

* Implementation of substation high voltage earthing and installation of Schneider 630A Ring Min Units with VIP410 Relays

* Installation of MIDAL air-cooled transformers, electrical metering, and containment

* Management of sub mains distribution cabling, low voltage distribution, small power, and busbar distribution systems

* Providing power supplies for cranes, mega doors, and central battery systems

* Overseeing the installation of mechanical wiring, TP&N connections for PV systems, and REF protection between medium and low voltage systems

* Supervising the supply and installation of new underground mains cold water services and fire hydrants

* Installation of electric panel heaters and fan heaters in various facility areas.

* Management of DX Air Conditioning Systems, air source heat pump domestic hot water installations, compressed air services, and domestic hot and cold-water systems

* Coordination of local mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) units and duty/standby extract ventilation systems

* Supervision of sanitaryware, above-ground drainage systems, and all related acoustic, expansion, and vibration controls

* Ensuring the installation of a Building Management System (BMS), and overseeing flushing, testing, and commissioning of the complete mechanical services installation

Requirements

* Extensive experience in commercial and heavy industries

* Proven track record of managing complex M&E projects

* Ability to start immediately and commit to the project duration

* Background with large main contractor or large specialist contractor is a must
