Mechanical Site Manager

Copius is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join our project delivery team on major data centre construction projects across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong mechanical construction professional with experience managing installation teams, subcontractors and complex mechanical packages within fast-paced, technically demanding environments.

The Role

As Mechanical Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of mechanical works on site, ensuring installations are completed safely, to the required quality standards and in line with the project programme.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, engineering, QA/QC, HSE and commissioning teams to coordinate works and ensure successful delivery through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage daily mechanical construction activities on site.

* Lead mechanical supervisors, subcontractors and installation teams.

* Coordinate HVAC, chilled water, pipework, plantroom and associated mechanical systems.

Monitor labour, productivity and progress against the construction programme.

* Prepare and manage short-term look-ahead plans and work fronts.

* Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project standards.

* Coordinate with electrical, CSA, BIM and engineering teams to resolve clashes and interface issues.

* Manage subcontractor performance, manpower and programme delivery.

* Support inspections, ITPs, pressure testing, flushing, snagging and quality close-out.

* Work closely with the commissioning team to achieve mechanical completion and system handover.

* Ensure compliance with all project HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture.

* Attend coordination, progress and client meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For

* Minimum 5+ years' experience within mechanical construction.

* Previous experience in a Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Site Manager or similar leadership role.

* Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, power, industrial or other major construction projects.

* Strong knowledge of mechanical pipework, HVAC and plant installation.

* Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics and specifications.

* Experience managing subcontractors and multi-discipline site interfaces.

* Strong understanding of construction safety, quality and commissioning requirements.

* Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.

Previous data centre experience is highly desirable.

Relevant trade, HNC/HND or Mechanical Engineering qualifications would also be advantageous.
