About the Company An established and highly regarded building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join its growing team.

With a long-standing reputation within the mechanical and electrical building services sector, the business delivers technically complex MEP projects across commercial, education, healthcare, pharmaceutical, residential, hospitality and heritage environments.

The company has a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects, including work within live and sensitive environments, listed buildings and technically demanding facilities. Its services cover mechanical installation, MEP coordination, design, renewable technologies, specialist projects, commissioning and maintenance.

You will take responsibility for the successful commercial and operational delivery of a portfolio of mechanical building services projects.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and internal design and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager looking to join an established contractor with a strong project pipeline and reputation for technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of allocated contracts.
Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
Liaise directly with clients, main contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, structural and architectural requirements.
Monitor project progress and ensure key milestones are achieved.
Identify and manage project risks, variations and commercial opportunities.
Attend and lead project meetings where required.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, specifications and company procedures.
Work closely with the design team to ensure buildability and effective coordination.
Oversee commissioning, testing, snagging and final handover.
Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to repeat business.
Ensure health and safety requirements are maintained throughout project delivery.
Support the commercial team with valuations, variations, forecasting and cost control. Projects Projects can range from major commercial and institutional developments through to technically complex refurbishment and specialist works.
The business has experience delivering projects involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning, chilled water, domestic services, public health, BMS, renewable technologies and specialist mechanical systems.
Experience of working within live environments, heritage properties, healthcare, education or pharmaceutical settings would be advantageous.
About You The successful candidate will have a strong background within mechanical building services and proven experience managing projects or contracts from start to finish.
You will ideally have:

Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations and building services.
Experience managing projects from £500k upwards.
Excellent understanding of project programmes, budgets and commercial control.
Strong subcontractor and supply-chain management experience.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
Strong client-facing and communication skills.
Experience coordinating with consultants, main contractors and design teams.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
Commercial awareness and the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
Relevant mechanical/building services qualifications. An engineering qualification or relevant professional accreditation would be advantageous.
