Job Title: Project Manager

Department: Mechanical Operations

Location: Office Based (Glasgow), with travel to sites across Scotland, NW, and NE England

Reports To: Mechanical Operations Director

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled, detail-orientated, and efficient Project Manager to join our team. This full time role involves managing the delivery of various mechanical project works whilst driving efficiencies and improving overall project deliverables productivity.

The role will involve working closely with clients, vendors, supply partners, and our mechanical operations team along with our estimating team across construction, manufacturing and transportation industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination: You will develop project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for mechanical engineering projects. You will also collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure successful project execution.

2. Risk Management: You will identify potential risks that may affect project timelines, budgets, and quality. You will develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise these risks.

3. Quality Control: You will oversee the quality of the mechanical engineering work being done, ensuring that it meets industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

4. Communication: You will be responsible for communicating with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, in-house engineering team members and the management teams, to ensure that project objectives are met, and that everyone is fully informed regarding project statuses.

5. Team Management: You will be responsible for managing teams of mechanical engineers and support staff, providing leadership, direction, and support as needed. You will also ensure that team members have the necessary training and resources to perform their jobs effectively.

6. Budget Management: You will be responsible for managing project budgets, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and that the project is completed within set budget constraints.

7. Documentation: You will ensure that all project-related documentation, such as drawings, specifications, reports, and O&M manuals, are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

8. Problem-Solving: You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the project, including technical problems, schedule delays, and resource constraints.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems and will ideally have some steam experience, although this is not essential.

Qualifications:

* H&V related qualification.

* Proven work experience as a Project Manager, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management position.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* Strong organisational and analytical skills.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

* Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks.

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAFM systems.

Working Conditions:

* This position will require travel.

* Flexibility in working hours may be required to manage and oversee operations to completion, and in-line with client requirements and shift patterns.
