Job Role: Project Engineer - Mechanical

Rate: £(Apply online only) / day

Duration: 12 months +

Location: Dorset

Our client is building a new extension and upgrade works to an existing clean water facility and incorporating ceramic filtration to the plant. This will be a site based role working for the M&E department, reporting to M&E manager.

About the Role:

Managing the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design with that of other disciplines.
Work closely and collaboratively with the construction team to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and beyond
Develop various mechanical sub-contractor scopes for procurement
Review, evaluate and comment on sub-contractor tender returns
Commercial & technical negotiations with sub-contractors and suppliers.
Follow through sub-contractor packages to site delivery and potentially installation
Specify equipment requirements and standards
Review and manage to the construction programme, mitigate delays and work with the team to achieve positive outcomes
Ensure regulatory, legislative, HSE, company and end client standards are maintained throughout the delivery programme.
Ensure all sub-contractor engineering designs meet required standards.
Communicate and manage relationships both internal and external.
Work with the Project Team to produce and review project plans / programs.
To ensure the project is driven to provide the best value solutions, and delivered on time and within budgets.
Produce and maintain all required documentation to develop project O&M
Assist with the commissioning planning when required and to distribute with sub-contractors, include commissioning within sub-contractor scopes.
Reporting to the M&E Project Manager, a positive, "can do" approach, determined to succeed, the Project Engineer will be able to work on their own initiative and form part of a successful team.About you:

Knowledge, understanding and experience in the water sector, preferably with clean water
Knowledge of membrane systems advantageous
Be knowledgeable of the following: pumps/pipe systems, sludge, ozone generation systems, chemical dosing, water/wastewater treatment process equipment
Experience of 3D modelling for sub-contractor engagement, take off, review, etc.
Knowledge of Reg 30 / WRAS
