We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Planner to join our team at our Workington Mill. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team.
Holmen Board & Paper is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

Our Mechanical Planner will be responsible for:
Setting priorities using the required date field on work orders
Scoping and planning work orders including risk assessments, work tasks, work task steps, material requisitions for parts and purchase requisitions
Developing work task templates for the quality of work planning and execution
Check for new work orders with a status of ‘observed’ (could be ‘Under preparation’)
Promotion of work order workflow
Visit site to scope new work orders/work tasks
Detailed work planning
Coordinate work tasks between disciplines
Competence within discipline
Supporting contractor control including inductions and competence audits
What we’re looking for in our Mechanical Planner:
Educated to HNC level (or equivalent in a technical discipline) preferred
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical based)
IOSH managing safely preferred
Excellent knowledge and competence in maintenance engineering
Good knowledge of plant processes and equipment
Computer literate with working knowledge of ‘Windows Office’ suite
Excellent knowledge of plant management systems
Must be self-motivated, be able to work using their own initiative
