Mechanical Manager
Freelance day rate | West London | High-rise residential
Salter Grange is partnered with a highly regarded property developer to recruit an experienced Mechanical Manager to join their team in West London.
The role
Reporting to the Head of MEP Operations, you'll take ownership of mechanical services delivery from tender stage through to Practical Completion, working closely with M&E consultants, trade contractors and the wider project team to ensure our client's exacting standards are met on site.
Key responsibilities
* Manage mechanical services contractors from tender through to Practical Completion
* Liaise with M&E consultants to ensure company requirements are implemented
* Manage and monitor performance of MEP trade contractors and specialist sub-contractors, including commissioning, handover, defects identification, snagging and closure
* Champion safety standards on site, with particular emphasis on electrical safety
* Lead M&E design co-ordination, issue and resolve RFIs, and manage RFSIs/CMIs
* Liaise with Statutory Authorities and chair package and progress meetings
* Review M&E RAMS and ensure works are carried out safely in line with method statements
* Check installation standards against consultant specifications through to handover
* Oversee correct commissioning of services on site
What we're looking for
* Proven track record as a Mechanical Manager delivering high rise residential projects for a developer or main contractor
* Strong ability to read and interpret programmes, drawings and specifications
* Industry-relevant City & Guilds/NVQ (or equivalent) in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering
* Valid CSCS and SMSTS
