Description:

AM Global are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our client on a permanent basis, based in Hartlepool.

Main responsibilities of the role:
Raise relevant work permit requests, accept and follow the permit, isolation procedure and other related safe systems of work to complete the task. Complete and/or contribute to risk assessments associated with all maintenance duties expected for the role.
Identify and rectify failures in service, and equipment defects, related to your specific trade and subsequent training and development.
Complete scheduled maintenance as per the company maintenance plan to support the running of the production site.
Work to company standards and procedures to ensure maintenance tasks are executed to the required quality standard, with the goal of minimising impact on production and maximising plant availability.
Develop and review maintenance procedures to keep information accurate, complete and relevant.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities with the aim of improving safety, environmental, equipment availability and efficiency performance.
Fault finding and improvement activities to reduce repeat equipment failure.
Maintenance KPI’s such as schedule achievement, right first time, mean time to repair/maintain.

Skills and qualifications required:
Essential: Recognised mechanical maintenance apprenticeship or relevant trade qualification, or equivalent demonstrable competence and experience.

Mechanical fitter background, or demonstration of strong mechanical skills along with an instrument or electrical trade background. Ideally within the chemical, petrochemical or oil and gas industry.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. The role operates within a 24/7 manufacturing environment and the postholder will be required to work the applicable shift/on-call arrangements for the role. Familiar with the use of computers for allocating, receiving and providing feedback on maintenance work
