Description:

Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, due to continued growth, we are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their night shift engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased maintenance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support to ensure maximum equipment reliability and production uptime.

Working on a permanent night shift, you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, responding to equipment breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance machinery performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with maintenance schedules.
Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and reactive maintenance requirements.
Diagnose and repair faults on a range of manufacturing and production equipment.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise recurring issues.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the site's maintenance management system.
Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and improvement projects.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased equipment reliability.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the engineering department.
Candidate Requirements

Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer, or equivalent.
Recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent).
Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging, or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
