Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join an established and growing engineering/manufacturing business.
This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer with a strong mechanical maintenance background and good electrical/technical knowledge. You will be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding and repairing a wide range of production machinery and equipment, helping to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on production machinery.
Carrying out electrical fault-finding and basic electrical repairs.
Working with motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings and mechanical systems.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Using electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
Identifying potential equipment failures and taking preventative action.
Supporting installation, modification and commissioning of machinery.
Working closely with production teams to minimise machinery downtime.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting faults and repairs.
Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures.
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.
Qualifications
An engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent would be advantageous.
Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition or relevant electrical maintenance experience would also be beneficial
