Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – City of London
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading building services provider on a prestigious commercial contract in the City of London. This well-established organisation is known for investing in its employees through continuous training, professional development, and clear career progression pathways.
Based within a modern commercial office building, the successful candidate will join a small, dedicated on-site maintenance team. This is a Monday to Friday position, working 8:00am to 5:00pm, offering an excellent work-life balance with no call-out requirement.
The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a variety of mechanical and building services systems, ensuring the site remains fully operational, safe, and compliant at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
Maintain and service Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, bearings, and mechanical seals
Conduct maintenance on sprinkler systems
Perform water treatment duties, including tap temperature testing, dosing, and cooling tower inspections
Monitor and record water temperatures
Maintain chilled water systems
Undertake general plumbing repairs and maintenance
Assist with generator maintenance and testing
Maintain pressurisation units
Carry out basic Building Management System (BMS) operations and monitoring Requirements
City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
Apprenticeship-trained (desirable)
Previous experience within a building services maintenance environment
Strong client-facing and communication skills
Professional and proactive approach to work
