Description:
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying engineering principles and practices to develop innovative solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the growth of the company.
Duties:
* Design, develop, and test mechanical systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
* Utilise logic controllers and signal processing techniques for system automation
* Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve technical issues
* Apply Python programming for data analysis and system integration
* Utilise MicroStation for drafting and documentation purposes
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
* Provide technical support in troubleshooting and resolving engineering challenges
* Design, develop and procure new equipment suitable for required processes.
* Support R&D, Scale-up, Devices and production groups via design and fabrication of equipment
* Source materials and fabricators to realise new equipment designs
* Contribute to invention disclosure forms and patents where necessary
* Convey ideas and contribute to team discussions, advise on best practises
* Liaise with external suppliers and design support (such as customers and SOG)
* Take part in Lean Six Sigma improvement projects and implement improvements
* Develop and modify hardware
Experience required:
Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in arm design and functionality
Experience with CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
Ability to conduct root cause analysis to address technical problems effectively
Familiarity with signal processing techniques for system optimisation
Proactive attitude, trouble-shooting and solution-oriented approach
Knowledge of CAD packages (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
Strong communication, planning, prioritising, numerical and IT skills
Understanding of process logic controllers, PLC and PC based systems
Ability to work autonomously or in a small team, with minimum supervision
Ambitious and looking to expand role within the organisation
Ability to coach and train team members for high performance
Ability to read circuit diagrams, P&ID and interpret technical drawings
Familiarity with all health & safety regulations (COSHH, PUWER, DSEAR)
Knowledge, training and familiarity with workshop tools and equipment
