Mechanical Foreman - Contract Role

Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Project Type: Refurbishment / construction of a building extension
Duration: 6+ weeks
Pay Rate: £30-£35 per hour (CIS) + £50 per day accommodation payment

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Foreman to oversee mechanical works on a refurbishment and extension project in Chichester. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong leadership, coordination and site management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works on site.
Manage and direct mechanical operatives and subcontractors.
Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Monitor progress against project timelines and report to site management.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth delivery.
Assist with planning, material coordination, and problem-solving on site.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern:

Standard Hours: 10-12 hours per day
Shift Pattern: 12 days on, 2 days off

Pay & Benefits:

Rate: £30 per hour (gross)
Payment Method: CIS
Accommodation Allowance: £50 per day worked

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Foreman or senior mechanical supervisor.
Strong background in refurbishment and/or construction projects.
Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple workstreams.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems and installation practices.
Valid CSCS card (supervisory level preferred).
SSSTS / SMSTS desirable.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
